I Have A Confession
I have a guilty pleasure. I don't know exactly why I'm so captured. Maybe I'm just like millions of Americans and have voyeuristic tendancies, maybe I just enjoy the idiocy of it all, I'm not sure. However, this is something I've only admitted to my husband. Please don't think less of me after you know my dirty, little secret... I love to watch The Girls Next Door!
If you haven't heard of this show, it's one of the latest reality shows featuring three of Hugh Hefner's SEVEN girlfriends. The three women are blonde, boobiful and one of them is dumber than two rocks. One of the girls is working on her second master's degree, a Phd candidate and her life's dream has been to be in Playboy. The other one is the only one who shares a room with Hef (I call him Hef now, we're tight like that). She's convinced that all the other's will eventually fade away and she'll be the head bitch...er...I mean bunny. It's soooo awful it's good. I can't help but to watch.
This week the Phd candidate was in tears. They finally got their chance to be in the magazine. There was individual and a group photo shoots. One of the group shots was in the shower (how original)! Smarty-pants had to leave to take a final and they went ahead with the shoot with the other two girls. When she found out she was DEV-I-STAT-ED! She cried to Hef and they had to re-shoot with her in the shower with the other two, AWWWW!
This brings me to the conversation I had with my husband. I asked him what would he think if I was naked in a magazine. He said it would depend on my reason for posing nude. I replied, "money?" He said that money wasn't a good reason. A good reason might be if I needed the validation of professionals in that field to approve of my body. I disagreed. I thought that looking to strangers for approval rather than to him (or better yet myself) was an insult to him. So what do you think? What is a good reason to pose nude? Artistic? Personal gratification? Money? And what's the difference between posing nude for Playboy or for an artist doing a painting? More importantly, what's your guilty pleasure? ;-)

He was talking about the one in the middle of the picture I posted. For a smart girl she sure is insecure and I think she has a rockin body.
As far as my question to Craig goes, it was purely hypothetical because we all know where my boobs are now that I've nursed 3 boys (4 if you count Craig)! LOL

Hehehe. Well hmm. I pose nude. I have my pictures on the same website that Lara does.
The fun thing about that site is that it's amateurs. Sure there's a money contest, but most people submit pictures not ever expecting to win a cent from the site. There are a number of reasons why different women post. Some do it to add some spice to their relationships. Others do it because they're exhibitionists and want to share their body with others. Others participate in the more "artsy" pictures than the "explicit" pictures -- the woman's body vs. the act of sex.
The main difference between posing nude for an artist vs. for a picture is, I'm told, mainly physical. If you're posing for a camera, it's instant -- though there are times where you have to shoot over and over again, it's done within a few minutes before you can move to a new pose. Art models, however, have to maintain a pose for several hours while the artists get the proper shadows and lines & all that jazz.
And for me, it's not about wanting "the validation" or anything - it's more about having fun and connectin on a deeper level with others in my life. Sure, it's great to hear "wow, your (insert body part here) looks (insert compliment here) in that picture" and whatnot, but it's mostly about exploration. :)

Not for nothing, but I'd rather fuck a rock than fuck Hef. I don't think he could offer me anything that could make me spread the thighs to heaven for him. Nuh uh. Not happening.
With that said, poor chicks. That's about all I can muster for those three uh...women. Poor things. Now I'm going to HAVE to watch the show. I'm such a freaking reality tv junkie. There's not methadone clinic that can cure my ills!

I LOATHE reality TV. I just feel nauseous...not pious or superior just...well...yech!!! Don't get why people do 'em (money aside) and don't get why people watch 'em.
If I were younger, firmer and had a better body, I might pose nude for the guy I live with, but that's about it. It's not an issue about body for me it's a privacy issue. My nekkid body and the guy I live with's nekkid body is just for us...no one else.
OTOH, I love nude photos, art work, sculpture. Not just the beautiful either. There is that guy who went all over the US taking nude photos of large groups of just regular folks. That interested me very much and the photos were very interesting.
As for guilty pleasures...that would probably be the erotic romances I buy online and read. ;) It's all for the guy I live with...you believe me, don't you?

Myssa, thanks for the info. One of the things I love about blogging is getting other people's perspective. BTW, I saw Lara's pics on that site. The only thing that would concern me would be worrying about your pictures floating all over the net and such. I think I would pose for my guy (if he wanted that), but I'm not too sure about posing otherwise.
BG-- I hear you sister! Everytime I see Hef I think, "He's soooo old! Why are those girls with him?" The really strange thing is that the one who shares his room really seems to love him. The whole sex thing is just too icky to contemplate!
Jonesy-- I just don't get that girl. She's smart, beautiful and older than the others (31), you would think she wouldn't be a part of that whole thing. Yet, she was hell bent on being in Playboy. I wonder why it was so important to her.
Ro-- You hussy! My guy has benefited a time or two from my love of the romance genre. I can't imagine (or maybe I can) what would happen if I started reading that erotica you do. As far as your aversion to reality tv...I tried to take the higher ground and apparently that's an impossibility for me. I'm low, really low and a cheap date!

I'd pose nude for beer. 3 bottles to be exact.

I think naked pictures are naked pictures, because you can't control who will look at them, and why. But it's just nudity.

I see Myssa already tattled on me! LOL
I actually started posting for approval... way back when. Back at 37 I was feeling old. LOL But I shoot all my own photos, and it quickly turned into a challenge.
I LOVE a good challenge. The ideas just pop into my head and I have to figure out how to turn them into photos... and then I do. And it's addictive. TOTALLY. I'm so proud of what I managed to do, that I have to show them to people. Does that sound egotistical? I don't mean it to... sure there's some feeling there of "wow, I'm 42... and I really look like that?" but it's more a feeling of "Wow... I can't believe I did that all by myself."
I take the photos because it's a way to express my creative & artistic side.. and sometimes my naughty side too. It's about expression. And when I have something to express, I have to share it (and not just photos, as my blog shows...)
Just TRY to shut me up! hehe
Am I nervous about them all over the web? Sure, sometimes... but that's why they don't show my face. I show bits & pieces but I strive to not be identifiable. To me, the risk is worth it... expressing myself is almost a need.

Pete, I'm dying to know what that guilty pleasure is!
Jay, You don't think there's a difference from a naked picture in Penthouse and a naked painting hanging in some museum? I know certain kinds of nudity draw out different emotions in me depending on the pose, lighting the subject!
Lara, I'm glad posing gives you a sense of pride! You should be proud of your body! I think it's important about how YOU feel about it than anyone else. We all strive for self expression in one form or another.

I love that show. I think it's because the girls aren't trying to hurt each other and except for that living in the playboy mansion thing, they seem like real people.
As for posing nude -- I'd do it, but it would scare people.
